Dreams do come true!

Eight years ago Gregory was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by his father, Nels. Since Baby Jason was needing to be given a name and blessing by his father too, we arranged to have them both on the same Saturday, so family only had to come together on one day. It was a special day.

That day Nels mentioned that in eight years we could be doing another such gathering, this time a baptism. Then Gregory would be just old enough to receive the office of a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood, and thus be able to perform the ordinance himself. (Nels is really big on teaching his sons priesthood responsiblities.) It was then that the idea was born. Over the next eight years ago, when each next child was baptized, it came up, "Someday, Gregory may be able to baptize Jason!"

So yesterday we all gathered before the baptism for an ordination. Then the boys went and changed into their baptism clothes.

Gregory performed the baptism, then Nels the confirmation. It was a glorious time with glorious eternal rewards, and tender memories created. Dreams do come true! (And I never even cried until today during our Fast & Testimony meeting! We went to our house for a fun luncheon together afterward.

One more picture for old times sake - Uncle Karl with ten neices and nephews (five each from two families). Those little kids are quite grown up now!

What a special day for your family. When ever you doubt yourself as a Mom (we all have those days), just remember back to special moments like these.

Thank you so much for including my son. It was neat to notice him at the back of the picture! I enjoy reading your blog and realizing that in spite of all the difficulties we all face, there are so many, many things we can choose to be grateful for. Louise
